2023 Elections

The MBRA board is holding elections for two open positions on its board of directors. The positions of President and Vice President are open. The current volunteers have reached their term limits after serving the board for six years. We wish to thank them for their contributions to the board over that time. The open positions have a two year term, starting Nov 1, 2023. The solicitation period will be open through September and elections will be held in October. To be considered for a position, please submit a short one page biography highlighting your connection to cycling and bike racing and your intentions to support and improve the sport of bike racing in the state. We are hoping that larger teams in the area will step up and participate on the board and help grow the sport. Bios should be sent to mbrainfo@gmail.com.

State Road Race Championship - June 4th

UPDATE May 23rd: Registration has be extended into the day-of, however it will be through BikeReg only, no in-person registration, and there are corresponding price increases. The flyer has been updated to indicate this.

The 2022 Michigan State Road Race Championships will be taking place on Saturday, June 4th at the Crystal Mountain Cherry Roubaix Gran Fondo. Registration for the Cherry Roubaix Road Race is open now! The Gran Fondo has kindly extended their early bird pricing. Look forward to food and music at the fondo after party where the podium presentations will also be held.

The race will be a separate wave ahead of the Gran Fondo group - there will be different waves taking different distances for the Men’s (62 mile), Women’s (45 mile), and Junior’s (30 mile) championship races. (Race results will be handled through the road race registration, so choosing any distance should be just fine for racers)

All racers must register for the gran fondo as well as register separately for the road race. Early bird pricing for the gran fondo ends on March 31st. Road race registration will open soon and have an additional fee ($20 - $25, early bird), stay tuned for details. As a state championship race, it will have no in-person day-of registration for the race.

Bring you friends and family to ride the fondo, it promises to be a great event with a lot to do after the ride as well as fantastic rest stops for those not racing for a champions jersey.
